According to initial findings, the man was walking in the area of ​​the railway tracks when he was hit by a train for unknown reasons. Despite emergency braking being initiated immediately, a collision could not be prevented, as the Bern cantonal police announced.

The emergency services found a lifeless person on site. An emergency doctor could only determine that the man was dead. The deceased was a 21-year-old Swiss man from the canton of Bern. Investigations were started to clarify the background and the exact course of the accident
