Guest of the show “A Sunday in the Country”, Sylvie Tellier returned with emotion to the departure of her father and the feeling of injustice experienced by the former Miss .

Sylvie Tellier is no longer director of Miss France since 2022. As the election of Miss France 2025 approaches (crowning the successor to Eve Gilles, who has just revealed that she suffers from an invisible illness), the former beauty queen continues her journey. She notably participated in the show The Traitors on M6 and was the guest this Sunday, November 3, 2024 of Frédéric Lopez in A Sunday in the countryside.

As usual, the host of France 2 returned with the trio of the day, also composed of the actor Antoine Duléry and the singer Kimberose, on their childhood and their first steps in the profession thanks to moments of intimacy full of kindness. And for Sylvie Tellier, the attic stage was a very moving ordeal. She is in fact returned to her father's departure.

Sylvie Tellier opens up about her father's departure

When looking back on her childhood, Sylvie Tellier did not beat around the bush in describing a “somewhat complicated family environment”. Her mother was alone, with three daughters at home, since her parents divorced when she was around 10, leaving to be with another woman. The former Miss sums up: “Adults' problems become children's problems”. A change not obvious, and a period during which “we learn to grit our teeth”.

Asked about these strong words, she describes the shame of having divorced, something less common than today at the time (the 1980s, 1990s), and of not having money. Her mother was transparent with her children: “We did the accounts at home”. She admits that they may have been “parachuted into adult life a little too soon”. But it's not so much money that has failed him all these years: “I miss a father”, summarizes the beauty queen, visibly on the verge of tears. However, she admits: “But I have exceptional sisters who are my best friends”. She also grew up in a very loving family.

The former Miss France revolted by injustice

But for Sylvie Tellier, her father’s departure was difficult: “As a girl, we need a father who tells us that we are the most beautiful in the world, you will succeed…”. This lack had consequences: “We learn how to cook, clean, we don't learn how to climb mountains”. However, she won the crown of Miss France in 2002. As a teenager, she had a terrible sentence for her mother: “Mom, I don't want your life”. Without being ashamed of herself, she explains that she realized that “life is short, we can't spend so little time on Earth to struggle”.

It was in the face of the injustice experienced by her mother that her desire to become a lawyer was born: the women stay, “men, they rebuild their lives, they turn the page”. This phrase annoys her, “to redo her life” because according to her, “we can’t when we have children, we continue it”. His mother did, but much later: “She got married this summer, at 75!”.
