Pontevedra, Nov 2 (EFE).- The Spanish team won the bronze medal this Saturday in the mixed relay event of the European Cyclocross Championships, which Italy conquered after dominating the event held in Pontevedra from start to finish.

In the first turn, dominance alternated between the Galician reliever Miguel Rodríguez and the Italian Federico Ceolin, who reached the finish line with a slight advantage over the Frenchman Théophile Vassal.

An equality that was maintained in the second round, since the Italian junior Mattia Agostinacchio failed to release Benjamín Noval. Behind them, the Frenchman Aubin Sparfel could not keep up with both of them.

In the next lap, the junior Lucia Bramati was able to slightly expand her advantage over the Galician Lorena Patiño, who saw how the French Célia Gery made a spectacular lap, leaving behind the first two bad laps of the French team.

Célia Gery managed to surpass Patiño and link up with the transalpine in the lead. The cyclists from and Italy understood each other perfectly and that prevented Aroa Otero and Sofía Rodríguez from cutting their advantage.

This is how the last round was reached. The fight for gold was between Filippo Agostinacchio and Rémi Lelandais, and the fight for bronze between the Valencian Felipe Orts, who wore a black crepe in memory of the DANA victims in his land, and Michael Boros, who entered the fight after an impressive return from the Czech Kristyna Zemanova.

It would be the planks that would dictate the sentence in the fight for third position, with Felipe Orts who once again showed his great skill on the bicycle to certify the Spanish bronze. The fight for the title was resolved on the final ramp in favor of Italy.
