Brian Brobbey is Ajax’s striker during the match against PSV in the eleventh round of the Eredivisie. The Amsterdammer had to settle for a short substitute against Feyenoord (0-2 win) on Wednesday, but trainer Francesco Farioli sees Brobbey as the best attack leader to combat the leader from Eindhoven. The match can be seen live at ESPN.
Remko Pasveer is, as usual, the first goalkeeper of the Amsterdam team. De Tukker receives support in the rear from Devyne Rensch, Josip Sutalo, Youri Baas and Jorrel Hato. The left back scored his third goal in all competitions in De Kuip on Wednesday and has also provided an assist four times.
There is one change in midfield compared to De Klassieker. Kenneth Taylor was out with an injury, so Farioli opts for Kian Fitz-Jim on the left of midfield. The other midfield positions are occupied by captain Jordan Henderson and Davy Klaassen, just like three days earlier.
Brobbey returns to the front at the point of attack. The striker, who is still looking for his first league goal, is preferred against PSV over Wout Weghorst, who starts on the bench. Brobbey is flanked from the right by Bertrand Traoré, who also returns to the starting line-up, and from the left by Chuba Akpom. Mika Godts is sitting on the couch.
Berghuis can make a comeback
Steven Berghuis can make his return in white-red-white after two months of injuries. The midfielder and forward made his last match minutes in the away match against Jagiellonia Bialystok in the Europa League play-offs (1-4). His last game in the Eredivisie was the 2-1 defeat against NAC Breda on August 18. To date, the left foot has played 124 matches for Ajax. Berghuis scored 32 times and provided 37 assists.
