The Aiglons continue with a second victory in a row on the Brest pitch (0-1). Ideal before receiving Twente in the Europa League. For Eric Roy, this defeat is the first since September 27 and a setback at Auxerre.
It’s an excellent operation for Franck Haise’s OGC Nice. The Aiglons snatched an important victory on the Brest pitch (0-1), winning a second consecutive match for the first time this season. However, the Niçois did not dominate for 90 minutes, quite the contrary.
It was Stade Brestois who showed their teeth first, closing very quickly on Marcin Bulka's goal. After the first ten minutes of intensive pressing, the Bretons then let go, letting Nice take control of the rhythm of the match. Ali Abdi, excellent on his left side, will have brought danger on numerous occasions on the opposing surface, well accompanied by some inspirations from Jérémie Boga, or Evann Guessand. The Tunisian also delivered a nice assist to Mohamed-Ali Cho, who saw his goal canceled for an offside by Guessand (37th). The second was good for Abdi who gave another excellent ball to Guessand, this time a good scorer for OGC Nice (0-1, 42nd).
Bulka maintains Nice's advantage
When we returned from the locker room, the match completely changed direction. Much more enterprising than in the first period, the Brestois clearly took the advantage, chaining together opportunities. Bulka had to work on numerous occasions to avoid a potential equalizer, while his team was no longer able to create chances. However, he could not have done anything about Lees-Melou's shot, which hit the post just after the break (49th). Despite 11 attempts, including 4 on target, Eric Roy's team never managed to find the net, while Nice had become completely amorphous offensively.
It is therefore an excellent result for OGC Nice which gains four places in the ranking and which thus moves to 5th. Brest, for its part, suffered its first defeat in more than a month, and thus remains 10th in Ligue 1.
