Actor François Pacôme, son of Maria Pacôme and actor Serge Bourrier, died at the age of 59. He was one of the great voices of French dubbing and we heard him in particular in the VF of the series How I Met Your Mother.
The actor François Pacôme died at the age of 59 this Friday, November 1st. It was AFP journalist Jean-François Guyot who announced the sad news about X. He simply specified that he would have died “of illness”. François Pacôme was the son of the actress Maria Pacôme, who died on December 1, 2018, and the actor Serge Bourrier, who died a few months earlier. “Maria matched, less than a year after my father. That's it, I'm an orphan”he wrote at the time of his mother's death at the age of 95.

François Pacôme trained at Cours Florent. During his career, the actor starred in numerous successful series such as Navarro, Under the Sun, Love's Vacation, An Angry Man or Police Hotel. He has also appeared on stage numerous times. But François Pacôme was best known for being one of the great voices of dubbing in France. He notably lent his voice to Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Motherperformed in the original version by Neil Patrick Harris. Series fans also heard it in Seven at home, Friends where he voiced Michael Rapaport, who played Gary, Phoebe's boyfriend in several episodes of season 5, Stargate SG-1, FBI: Missing, Olive and Tom: The Return, Battlestar Galactica, Monk or in The disastrous adventures of the Baudelaire orphans.
François Pacôme launched an appeal for the right to die with dignity
François Pacôme took advantage of his mother's disappearance to raise awareness of the right to die with dignity. “We need real reflection on the end of assisted life, because there, we are very far from dignity and humanity.” he wrote on Facebook. The actor also spoke to RTL revealing that Maria Pacôme had asked him to help her die abroad. “She wanted it when things got really complicated. She asked me to take the steps for her for what we call assisted suicide in Switzerland.“, he declared. A wish he could not grant. “It's 10,000 euros if you want to die with dignity. You have to go there 3 times before. And then, when it really became critical and mom wanted it, she told me 'I can't make 3 trips to Switzerland. I am no longer in this state“, he concluded.
