Everton have been going strong in recent weeks in the Premier League, but that hasn’t changed the opinion of one fan who called in to TalkSPORT to give his prediction.
With the new stadium on the horizon and a takeover in the works, some Everton fans may have their sights set on someone more established than Sean Dyche.
Well, it appears as if the Friedkin Group are giving Dyche until the end of the season at the most, with the avoidance of relegation the only target in the minds of the new owners.
The Toffees have improved with their results in recent weeks, but there are still concerns for the fans, with the fact Everton are rock bottom in the Premier League for average possession being one of them.
One Everton fan in particular is concerned with how his side are playing under Sean Dyche this season, as he called in to TalkSPORT to give his prediction.
Ray Parlour and Alan Brazil disagree with Everton fan’s relegation prediction
The Friedkin Group are right. Avoiding relegation to the Championship is the main aim with the new stadium being built, as the interest and drop-off from fans could be fatal if relegation is suffered.
Everton are in a good position right now after an upturn in form, but that still hasn’t pleased one fan.
Calling in to TalkSPORT, an Everton caller stated his disgust at the way Sean Dyche has his Everton side playing and even tipped us for relegation.
Ray Parlour and Alan Brazil were the hosts at the time, and they disagreed.
The fan stated this when asked about the Toffees can win the Southampton game.
“No I don’t think we can. I think we’re done; I think we’ll lose that one. We lost it on a penalty shoot out in the cup, and we drew negatively. It’s negative football Alan, it’s negative football.
“It’s actually diabolical. He gives instructions on how to play and how to set up, and yet when players aren’t meeting their needs and they’re in his finest instructions and nothing is coming out of it.
“I think we’re serious contenders for going down.”
Ray Parlour responded.
“I think you’ll have enough.”
Brazil said.
“I think you’ll be okay.”
Relegation for Everton?
Personally, we feel as if relegation is a possibility but at the moment it doesn’t look likely.
The likes of Ipswich, Southampton and Crystal Palace have looked terrible in most games. Wolves have just two points, but they have the squad to escape and haven’t actually played badly.
Everton have had the odd positive game in the recent run, but the one thing that keeps being brought up amongst fans is the negativity in the way we set up sometimes, which is totally right.
Of course, Sean Dyche isn’t the type of manager who is going to promote tiki-taka football, but he does know how to keep a side in the Premier League, so it may be a case of gritting our teeth.
