Direction Sao Paulo for the Formula 1 sprint race. Four races from the end of a season still undecided, the Brazilian weekend, with this sprint race at 3 p.m., could reshuffle the cards in the fight for the driver titles and builder.
After a successful Mexican weekend with Carlos Sainz’s victory and Charles Leclerc’s third place, Ferrari hopes to repeat the performance in Brazil. The Scuderia is the team in form and could once again play spoilsport in the fight for the driver and constructor titles.
“All scenarios are still possible”
The prancing horse brand has won two victories in the last two races. Charles Leclerc, third on the grid for the sprint race, spoke to Canal + about his struggles in the championships: “We are very probably the main threat to McLaren for the driver’s title. Honestly, I think there is more a battle between me and Lando for second place, that there is one for Max and Lando But hey, all scenarios are still possible.”
And the fight for the title between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris will therefore still be at the center of attention. “Mad Max” will try to capitalize on its sprint racing performances. The Dutchman, who will start fourth, has won them all this season. Lando Norris will start second, behind the pole sitter, his teammate, Oscar Piastri. Since the end of the summer break, the battle between the two drivers has turned to Norris’ advantage, 116 points scored for the McLaren driver against only 85 for Verstappen.
