DANA has left a trail of destruction in Valencia, Spain. This is also the case in the backyard of actress An Swartenbroekx. The damage was not too bad, but to help the other victims, she is now starting a collection campaign. Colleagues out FC The champions quickly donated.

“We have damage, a lot of mud, a clean-up and some costs, but that is nothing compared to what they experience in Valencia,” An Swartenbroekx told this newspaper earlier this week. “Our swimming pool is black with mud and it sounds so banal to say, but the pump is broken. The storage areas behind our house, where we stack things, are flooded. But I drove to the coast, 17 kilometers away, to do some shopping and put away some stuff. I saw houses that were flooded. Cars that had been dragged away and were lying on the side. There was rubble, some roads were blocked with debris from the mountain, sometimes as much as 50 centimeters of stones.”

Swartenbroekx couldn’t sit back and give up. And so she has set up a collection campaign to financially support the victims. The goal is 10,000 euros, of which around 3,600 euros have already been raised. “The aim of the collection is to provide the people in the Valencia region with food and essential products in the short term to bridge this difficult period of crisis,” the website reads. “As a public figure in Belgium, I received many responses from concerned Flemish people, who would like to do their bit for these people in need. Hence our call.” O

Also colleagues out FC The champions Herman Verbruggen (Marc) and Tuur De Weert (Maurice) have already donated money for the victims, as have ex-basketball player Tomas Van Den Spiegel, actress and Come onpolitician Lien Van de Kelder and actor Steph Goossens.
