One room, two atmospheres.

While the mayor of Rillieux-la-Pape intends to summon the parents of minors who participated in Thursday evening's urban violence and threatens to cut off their municipal aid, or even to put pressure on landlords to cancel their leases, LFI deputy Abdelkader Lahmar wants above all “restore serenity and security for all”.

If he “condemns acts of violence” which have taken place for two days in the town, particularly in the Velette district, Abdelkader Lahmar says he “convinced that the solution will come from dialogue.

“This is why I am planning a meeting with the main stakeholders in the neighborhood to understand the causes of these tensions and work together on concrete solutions”he promises.

Could the situation have been calmed by this Saturday evening? For its part, the Rhône prefecture deployed significant CRS reinforcements on site to prevent a further escalation of violence.

As a reminder, cars and trash cans were set on fire Thursday evening, Halloween night. In response to the four arrests of teenagers, groups of individuals did it again on Friday by setting a trap for two TCL buses which were set on fire and injured a police officer in the face with projectiles.
