Equity Hawks are facing off against the KPA Women in the Africa Women’s League Qualifier quarterfinals in Stone Town, Tanzania.

It is a rematch of the AWBL Quarter-Finals from the previous year, which the Zone reigning champions won en route to their first-ever continental competition final. They are also competing in the same league.

The Kenyan champions Equity Bank Hawks landed a wild card to the AWBL after finishing third in the Zone 5 Qualifiers.

Cameroonian sensation Mitchell Sokoudjou is the star running their backcourt. Last year they finished sixth in Alexandria and are looking to return to the continental showpiece and do better.

Zone title holders Kenya Ports Authority (KPA)  got statement wins in their opening match against Ethiopia’s Hawassa City on Sunday 27th October.

KPA’s Alimah Doumbia leads the scorers leaderboard averaging 23.0 points per game.

A thriller awaits as the two Kenyan teams will kick off at 5.00 pm at Amaan Indoor Sports Hall in Tanzania.

The other quarter-final matches are between REG Women facing off against JKL Lady Dolphins.
The match will also see siblings Elizabeth and Selina Okumu go up against each other.
