Want a Pixel phone without paying full price? Google’s new Certified Refurbished Phone program could help. The online shop now sells older Pixel 6 and 7 models at up to 40% off their original price.
As part of the program, Google says it thoroughly inspects the battery, internal components, and display for damage. If the phones need repair, the company’s experts complete it using authentic Google parts. The devices are then repackaged using plastic-free materials and equipped with the latest Android software, a limited one-year warranty, and a compatible charger.
Google Store’s current refurbished offerings include the Pixel 6 ($339), Pixel 6 Pro ($539), Pixel 6a ($249), Pixel 7 ($429), and Pixel 7 Pro ($629). Customers can make purchases at 0% APR for up to 36 months and also receive free shipping and returns. While the page only lists discontinued models at the moment, the company says it plans to “constantly update its selection of devices” in the future.
The new program is a part of Google’s long-term sustainability efforts. “Since launching our first hardware products, sustainability has been integrated into everything we do—from sourcing materials to designing our retail stores,” said Prem Pandian, Google’s head of hardware service partnerships. “The Certified Refurbished Phone program is the latest in our efforts to continue our sustainability goals, including reducing electronic waste.”
