The 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony takes place this Monday evening at the Théâtre du Châtelet. If the precious Grail will be given at the end of the evening, there are many other distinctions planned on the program in this annual historic gala organized in Paris. Among these additional trophies, the Lev Yachine 2024 trophy rewards the best goalkeeper in the world over the past year. Last year, Emiliano Martínez received this precious trophy after a season marked by a great campaign with Aston Villa and especially the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

This year, without any surprise, the Argentinian goalkeeper, Emiliano Martínez, pocketed the best goalkeeper award for the second year in a row. Among his notable events, we can notably recall his leading role in the national team, during Argentina's coronation in the Copa América 2024. During the competition, the Argentine goalkeeper played all of his team's 6 matches. Author of a successful competition, he conceded only one goal and posted a record of 93% of saves on shots on target suffered by his team throughout the tournament and even made 4 saves in the final against Colombia.
