LE WE 20H
This is a first in a year. From this Monday, October 28, mainland France will begin a week without rain over almost its entire territory, according to weather forecasts. The Météo-France maps are in fact covered in sunshine for the next few days, with the exception of a few drops expected Tuesday on the Normandy and Breton tips, and Thursday in Saône-et-Loire. Everywhere else, the prospect of a lull is already delighting tourists and vacationers.
A week without rain? “That would be great, exceptional”exclaims a Parisian jogger in front of our cameras. On the Seine, boat passengers already appreciate the improvement: “Today it’s a little gloomy, but it doesn’t matter, it’s not raining. It’s gray so it’s okay!”laughs a mother.
“We’re going to go to the beach.”
In Arcachon, temperatures will return above 20 degrees this week. Some have already taken out their flip-flops and shorts, without daring to take off their down jacket yet. Holidaymakers will finally be able to enjoy outdoor activities: “We’re going to go to the beach, we’re going to eat ice cream, we’re going for a walk, we’re going to take the boat”rejoices a tourist. Another admits that the weather forecasts come back to her “more than a little” morale.

And for good reason, bad weather affects our morale. Or more precisely, the lack of natural light. “The more we are exposed to light, the more the quality of sleep is enhanced”explains Armelle Rancillac, researcher in neuroscience at Inserm and the Collège de France, in the TF1 8 p.m. report visible at the top of this article. However, “if we sleep well, we will regulate our emotions well. Because sleep serves a multitude of functions, including the regulation of stress and mood.”
