Ferrari won in Texas with Charles Leclerc, Ferrari also won in Mexico, this time with Carlos Sainz. Team boss Fred Vasseur explains why the Italians performed so well in the last two Grands Prix.

The Tifosi in seventh heaven: Second victory in a row in just eight days, after the triumph of Monegasque Charles Leclerc, it was now Carlos Sainz’s turn in Mexico – victory from pole position.

Of course, Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur is visibly happy: “A very positive weekend for us. We were with the music in Mexico from the first training session.”

“We had pole position and Carlos drove two laps, both of which would have been enough for the front row of the grid. Then we were able to show a very strong race.”

«Carlos showed a very clever race. He gave up his lead shortly after the start so as not to risk a penalty, then he attacked decisively and overtook Verstappen. Our pace was very strong today, all in all a very positive weekend for Ferrari.”

Of course, many fans are wondering where this speed comes from. Fred Vassuer explains: “We took a significant step forward with the car in Monza. “But that wasn’t very obvious because Monza, Baku and Singapore were all very different routes.”

“As soon as we were in Austin and now in Mexico, i.e. back on classic routes, the improvements paid off with very good speed.”

“But it’s all so close at the front that you can’t jump to conclusions about the next race. We must not forget: Lando Norris was very fast in the last part of the race. Even if Carlos’ victory and Charles’ third place are a great result, we won’t overreact. We just want to carry on like this.”
