TOP – As predicted, Conte’s Napoli are at the top of the table. He doesn’t shine but he wins, he has that bit of luck that is always needed and now after having made it with 12-points-12 in the four “soft” matches made available by the calendar (victories at Maradona against Monza and Como, at Empoli and still at home with Lecce) is preparing to face a poker of convincing commitments: tomorrow Milan at San Siro, then Atalanta at home, then another trip to Milan to face Inter then Roma at Maradona. In the only big match played so far, Conte’s team did not enchant but kept a clean sheet and took home a significant point from the Juventus Stadium. If Napoli were to find the best Lukaku (so far in alternating current and in recent matches rather in the shade) the fourth championship mission could really go well. Big Rom in the blue shirt is undefeated (he hadn’t yet arrived when, on the first day, Verona beat Napoli 3-0): eight matches between the championship and the Italian Cup, seven victories and a draw. But goals are lacking: only three so far, and Lukaku hasn’t scored from open play for 425 minutes, exactly since the 70th minute of Cagliari-Napoli 0-4 on 15 September.
