After a dominant and exciting rout over the Portland Trail Blazers in their first game of the 2024-25 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors are back in action, and staying on the road. They take on the Utah Jazz tonight at 6:30 p.m. PT.
In that first game, there was no one on the Dubs’ injury report. Today there are a whole bunch of names, but thankfully it’s not much bad news.
Here’s the full injury report.
Warriors
Probable — De’Anthony Melton (right chest contusion)
Melton is surely looking to build on his Warriors debut, which was solid but not particularly impactful. He apparently sustained a mild contusion during that game, but it looks like he’ll play through it.
Available — Steph Curry (right hip contusion)
Available — Draymond Green (left knee contusion)
Available — Brandin Pod Ziemia (facemask)
All three will play, and that’s a good thing. The fact that they’re listed on the injury report — even as available — instead of absent signals that they were on earlier versions of the injury report, while still not fully cleared to play.
Thankfully that’s changed, because I want to watch all three!
Jazz
Out — Isaiah Collier (right hamstring strain)
Collier, the 29th overall pick in June’s draft, will have to wait a little bit longer to make his NBA debut. He’s been cleared for full court activities, but isn’t likely to play until November.
Out — Johnny Juzang (right thumb strain)
Juzang is entering his third season, all with the Jazz, though he’s only played in 38 career games. He’s listed as day-to-day, but will have to wait until after this game to make his season debut.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
