I mean holy shit. Poor Vuc. That entire possession wasn’t even his fault with the Bulls being careless with the basketball and once you allowed Giannis to get a head of steam we all knew what was coming. Credit to Vuc for trying to contest, but unfortunately he ended up on the wrong end of one of the best pure posters you’re ever going to see. It sort of reminded me of the LeBron dunk on Jason Terry from back in 2013. I remember being in the building for that and the entire arena legitimately thought that was the end of Jason Terry. We weren’t sure if we’d ever see him again

Same sort of play where there’s a turnover in the backcourt and then BOOM, here comes LeBron (Giannis) who dropped an absolute hammer. Even the way Vuc fell was sort of just like Terry.

He may still have his own issues when it comes to shooting and any sort of range, but make no mistake what you just witnessed is part of what makes Giannis so dominant. Look where he took off from. He went THROUGH a 7fter with relative ease, as if Vuc was a child. I don’t care who your favorite team is, that shit is impressive.

There are plenty of reasons to be excited the NBA is finally back. Aside from multiple basketball games every night, and the talent in the league never being better, the return of NBA basketball also means the return of watching basketball murders unfold live in real time on television. I’m not sure there’s a person alive who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned poster, and when it comes to potential candidates who could deliver one of those moments, I’d say someone like Giannis is a pretty solid choice.

A Dunk Of The Year Candidate? I’d say so. This is what we’re looking for when it comes to potential winner of that award, and it only took Giannis 2 games to get his name on the list. Not bad.
