The Sound at QMusic has finally been guessed after more than six weeks. After 420 incorrect answers, listener Lynn (33) from Izegem managed to give the correct answer. And that earns her a nice penny.
QMusic listeners have been searching with all their might for Het Geluid in recent weeks. The search started on Monday September 9 and 420 listeners thought they had found the right answer. For example, taking a drinking cup in and out of the cup holder of a car or opening a tube of new tennis balls were submitted as answers.
But after the jury gave a second tip on Wednesday morning, listener Lynn was able to guess the correct answer from DJs Mathias Vandenbulcke and Ulrike D’hauwer: the sound of the turning pin of a fan being pulled up. “Oh my gosh! I’m not feeling well about it,” said the winner. “I don’t know yet how I’m going to celebrate, but I’m going to eat fries with my mémé later. She’s going to fall off her chair.”
Lynn also receives a nice sum of money to take home. For each incorrect answer, 100 euros were added to the pot. So she will receive a check for no less than 43,100 euros. Money that will come in handy, says Lynn, because she will soon tie the knot.

The competition started on September 9. Every day at 9:30 am there was… Morning show van Maarten & Dorothee the Superronde, with which listeners could win 25,000 euros from day one. From Friday, October 4, that amount was doubled and the Super Ronde was worth 50,000 euros. After a month of fruitless searching, listeners received a first tip on Wednesday, October 9. A marching band – ‘fan’ is the English word for fan – came when the Morning show delight with the number Left Right from Snollebollekes – immediately an extra tip, because you can adjust the blowing direction with the rotating pin of a fan.
A second tip was given on Wednesday morning. DJs Maarten and Dorothee received coordinates from ‘the jury of Het Geluid’ that referred to a wind turbine in Hamme.
