Florian Silbereisen regularly brings the crème de la crème of the hit industry onto the stage in his TV shows. From Andrea Berg to Roland Kaiser, hardly any star misses the shows. However, one singer has never taken part in recent years: Vanessa Mai. The 32-year-old last appeared at “Schlagerbooom” in 2017 – and her boycott had a reason, as you can read here.
The pop star even didn’t hold back with public criticism. It was all the more surprising when Vanessa Mai announced on Instagram a few days ago: “Nothing is stronger than an idea whose time has come! I’m looking forward to the ‘Schlagerbooom’!” On Saturday evening, the 32-year-old actually appeared on stage in the ARD live show.
Neither she nor Florian Silbereisen said a word about the differences of the past. On the contrary: the singer euphorically fell into the host’s arms after her performance. “Dear Vanessa, that was nice. I’m really happy,” he enthused after the warm hug. Afterwards the two chatted as if nothing had ever happened. Many viewers were irritated by the performance.
“I didn’t expect that,” wrote a user on the short message service “Didn’t she break away from the Silbereisen team in the media? It probably wouldn’t work without the Heuchel machine,” someone criticized. “A few words about her long absence would have been nice,” it also read.
But some fans were also happy about the comeback. “It’s nice that she’s giving it a new chance,” “Vanessa Mai was simply missing from these shows” or “She’s back where she belongs” are just some of the comments.
