Mathieu Blanchard is the King of Fools. He finished his race in 23 hours 35 and 2 seconds, 43 minutes before Jean-Philippe Tschumi. The Swiss achieved his third podium in three consecutive participations. After 24 hours and 8 minutes of racing, he was welcomed by Mathieu Blanchard who gave him his medal and his finisher’s jersey.

It was ultimately Ben Dhiman who completed the podium, after crossing the finish line at 10:42 p.m. after 23:44 and 56 seconds of racing.

On the side, Judicaël Sautron climbed to 7th place in the general scratch. He crossed the finish line at 1:23, after 27:23 of racing.

Among the women, Manon Bohard still dominates the race and is expected at 5:52 a.m. at La Redoute. She widened the gap with Maryline Nakache and Ingrid Terrier, who formed the leading trio for a large part of the race.

One of the favorites for the race, Francesco Cucco, although well positioned in the rankings, was forced to abandon. “I had a drop in motivation, I no longer felt like continuing, I wasn’t prepared enough…”.

Winner last year, Haut-Savoyard Aurélien Dunand-Pallaz returned to Reunion Island to try to win a second title. But it won’t be this year. Tested after several big trails, the athlete was forced to give up at Maïdo. “I am exhausted, I have no strength left, I no longer enjoy the trails, I want to see my loved ones and my family again. My decision is final, I have returned my bib…”, a- he declared.

– Alexandre Dépêche wins the Mascarenes –

Arriving this Friday, October 18 in 8 hours, 28 minutes and 6 seconds, Réunionnais Alexandre Dépêche wins the 70 kilometers of La Mascareignes.

Arriving behind him, two other Reunion Islanders: Nicolas Marcy in 8 hours, 29 minutes and 2 seconds and Antoine Comparot in 8 hours, 34 minutes and 2 seconds.


Among the women, Laure Rebuffet finished first (22nd in the general classification). She completed the 70 km race in 10 hours 12 minutes 31 seconds.


Arriving after her, Thaïs Pibouleau finished second in 11 hours, 4 minutes and 57 seconds of racing. Finishing this podium, Margaux Beyre in 11 hours, 13 minutes and 24 seconds to walk the trails for the Mascareignes.

– Team Vetyver wins the Zembrocal relay –

The Vetyver team wins the Zembrocal relay after 19 hours of racing, 44 minutes and 30 seconds (at 12:44 p.m.). It was made up of Yoann Martin, Jean-Philippe Boult, Nicolas Drapper and Lucas Desilve.


Team PTP came second at 12:45 p.m. after 19 hours, 45 minutes and 5 seconds. Among the torchbearers, Victor Durande, Florian Durque, Mackaël Magalhaes and Gilles Seni

Completing the podium, TPC Men composed of Arthur Cellié, Benjamin Degres, Aubin Lopeo and Grégory Lamoly in 19 hours, 57 minutes and 31 seconds.

– The first of the Trail de Bourbon expected this Saturday –

Penultimate race to start, the Trail de Bourbon. Each athlete faces 100km of course for 6,120 meters of difference in altitude.

Arrivals of the first at noon on Saturday October 19. The last ones will have until Sunday, 3:10 p.m. to cross the final time barrier.


– The little news, the Métis Trail to finish –

New race appearing this year, the Métis trail. The departure will be at 7:30 a.m. from Saint-Paul this Saturday, October 19. For this first edition, 579 people registered.

If the youngest is 22 years old, the oldest is 73 years old.

A new race of 50km and 2,500 meters of elevation gain.


The first arrivals are expected on Saturday at noon. The last ones will have until Saturday, 9:30 p.m., to complete this race.

Among this year’s figures, Marcelle Puy, five-time winner of the Grand Raid.

– Several roads closed to the public during the race –

Until Sunday October 20, due to the edition of the Grand Raid 2024, numerous traffic restrictions are coming on the various roads of the island. In the municipalities of , , Saint Paul, Saint Pierre, , Salazie and Cilaos, traffic will be regulated in order to allow the sporting event to take place in complete safety.


The following restrictions should be taken into account in particular:

– RD2 Saint Paul – Route de Mafate: from Friday October 18 at 12 p.m. to Sunday October 20 at 1 a.m., traffic and parking prohibited. Diversion via the RD2b,

– RD41 Route de la Montagne – La Redoute sector in Saint Denis: from Friday October 18 at 6 a.m. to Sunday October 20 at midnight, parking prohibited. Diversion via rue Lucien Gasparin,

For the smooth running of the competition, several forest roads will remain closed during the Grand Raid. The ONF also asks each user of the forest to adopt a civic and responsible attitude by bringing back their waste and by not damaging either the fauna or the flora of Reunion.


Traffic is prohibited (except for organization vehicles) on forest roads:

Outside of these dates, to allow the completion of the work to requalify the Maïdo belvederes carried out by the Department, which are regularly the subject of incivility from visitors to the site, the ONF reminds that traffic remains completely prohibited from the mass area to the terminus of the Maïdo car park, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Monday to Friday until October 31, 2024 inclusive.

This closure should allow the safe organization of convoys of materials necessary to carry out the work. Visitors are invited to postpone their visit to the opening times of the road, during the day or on weekends.
