Who is Othman Al-Firdaus, the former “young minister” who was appointed by the king as ambassador to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire?

King Mohammed VI, in the Ministerial Council that he chaired today, Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, appointed Othman El Ferdous as Moroccan Ambassador to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.

Mr. Othman El-Ferdous arrived at the Akkar Awaddawar square in Tafraout, Tiznit Province, on January 13, 1979. He holds a master’s degree in journalism (2005-2007) from the Institute of Political Studies in , and an executive master’s degree from the National School of Administration in 2016, the European Graduate Studies Program, and He obtained a diploma from the Higher School of Commerce in -Atlantique (Audonsia).

Al-Firdous began his professional career as an audit consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Paris between 2003 and 2006.

He then assumed the position of director in charge of the consulting office “Mena Media Consultin” in Rabat between 2008 and 2016. Then, since July 2016, he served as director of the “Europe Conseil” office in Casablanca.

On April 5, 2017, King Mohammed VI appointed him Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy, in charge of investment.

Since January 2017, Mr. El Ferdous has assumed the presidency of the Gibraltar Club “ClubGibraltar.org”, a think tank directed to stimulate the greater Morocco’s involvement in the European project. He also assumed the duties of Secretary-General of the Association of Political Science Graduates in Morocco between 2012 and 2016.

In April 2020, King Mohammed VI appointed Othman El Ferdous as Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication in the Othmani government.
