Robert Lewandowski has got fans used to the fact that the Polish national team squad is built from him. The White and Reds striker is the best player of the national team who has an incredible reputation all over the world.
The absence of Lewandowski in the starting eleven for the last match against Croatia (3:3) was therefore quite a surprise. The FC Barcelona striker started the match on the bench, allegedly due to a minor injury. He appeared on the pitch only in the 62nd minute. He assisted Sebastian Szymański’s goal.
Mateusz Borek analyzes Robert Lewandowski’s injury
In Thursday’s program “Bajerka o footballu” on “Kanal Sportowy”, Mateusz Borek discussed Lewandowski’s injury. The journalist did not rule out a certain trick by the coach, which could have had a hidden meaning.
– Coach Michał Probierz said in a pre-match interview that Robert had a slight injury. (…) Maybe it was a bit of a trick by Michał. I absolve such nonsense. Perhaps there was some agreement with the club that Robert would not play two full matches. There is also an option that this injury was present, but it was not visible in Lewandowski’s game – said Mateusz Borek.
