Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech is being considered for a transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS) during the next winter transfer window, according to the Turkish newspaper “Milliyet”.
The same source reports that Ziyech’s time in Istanbul will probably not extend until the end of his contract, scheduled for next summer. He also specifies that his agent is discussing offers from the United States, where Argentine legend Lionel Messi plays.
During the last summer transfer window, Ziyech was linked with Qatari clubs Al-Arabi and Al-Gharafa, but he ultimately chose to stay at Galatasaray, despite his limited playing time.
Ziyech missed the majority of his team’s matches, playing only a few matches as a substitute, both in domestic and European competitions. He was also substituted on several occasions, most notably in the match against Young Boys of Switzerland, where his half-time substitution affected the nature of his relationship with his manager.
Ziyech injured his back last September during a Moroccan national team match against Lesotho in Agadir which kept him sidelined for a long period. He also missed the Atlas Lions’ last two matches against the Central African Republic.
