The 2024 Paris Motor Show opens its doors to a resolutely electric future. While Europe is revisiting its classics in an electric version, Asia is arriving with models with astonishing performance.
The 2024 Paris Motor Show has opened its doors, and this year, electric is definitely king. Enough of the blabla, here are the 13 electric cars that you shouldn’t miss during your visit.
The return of icons
Let’s start our visit with an essential stop: the Renault stand. The diamond brand revives two legends, and believe me, the result lives up to expectations. The R4 and R5 are making a comeback, but in 100% electric versions that skillfully combine nostalgia and modernity.
The new electric R5 is particularly successful. It retains the iconic lines of the original while integrating futuristic design elements. Beneath its retro appearance, it hides great performance.

Right next to it, the Alpine A290 attracts all eyes. This sporty electric city car promises performance worthy of its lineage. With its sleek design and high-tech interior, it perfectly embodies a certain transition towards the electric era. We appreciate it.

Leapmotor, Xpeng, BYD, etc.
If European manufacturers are not left out, it is clear that Chinese brands are making a notable entry into the market. The Leapmotor B10, for example, is a real surprise.

Here is the Leapmotor B10: it goes up against the Renault Scenic E-Tech, Peugeot E-3008 and Ford Explorer for much less money
This compact electric SUV is the first model in the manufacturer’s new C series, and it is already getting a lot of attention. With an announced price of around €30,000, it could well shake up the European market for electric compact SUVs.
At the Xpeng stand, the P7 Plus attracts attention. This large, high-end electric sedan is a direct rival to the Tesla Model S. With its successful design, it is very long, its impressive performance (0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds) and its autonomy exceeding 600 km, it shows that Xpeng is not kidding at all.
BYD, another Chinese giant, announced the Sealion 7. This electric SUV, the brand’s seventh model in Europe, displays disproportionate ambitions.

Its futuristic design does not leave you indifferent, but it is above all its performance that impresses: 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, 215 km/h at peak, and an announced range of more than 500 km. Enough to make the competition think.
The Aito 5 (M5), the result of the collaboration between Seres and Huawei, is also worth a look. This premium electric SUV integrates cutting-edge technologies, particularly in terms of infotainment and driving aids. An interesting demonstration of what a tech giant can bring to the automotive world. But, there is also 7 and 9. Aito came in force.
Among all these new features, certain models stand out with technical characteristics that seem to push the limits of what is possible. This is the case of the GAC Aion V, which promises – hold on – 1,000 km of autonomy and recharging at 481 kW. If these figures are confirmed in practice, it is a great arrival in Europe.
Audi is not left out in this electric parade with its Q6 Sportback e-tron. This coupe SUV is proof that the German manufacturer knows how to juggle style and performance.

With an impressive range of up to 656 km for the “performance” version, it silences electric skeptics. On the other hand, you will have to have deep pockets to afford it. But after all, luxury has always had a price, even when it’s trendy!
The Kia EV3, too, deserves our attention. She is not Chinese, but Korean.

And this compact SUV announces a range of 600 km, which immediately places it among the benchmarks in the segment. Kia once again proves its ability to offer high-performance and well-thought-out electric vehicles with a successful design.
Hongqi, Chinese prestige brand (to pronounce Hong Chi, it’s less classy in French), makes its first appearance in Europe with the ES7 and ESH7 models. These cars, which notably equip high-ranking Chinese dignitaries, impress with their luxury and performance. Their presence at the show marks an important step in the internationalization of high-end Chinese brands. And yes, they are 100% electric.
Skoda is also causing a sensation with its new Elroq, a 100% electric compact SUV which could well become the darling of European families.

Based on the Volkswagen ID.3 platform, the Elroq offers the best of both worlds: the practicality of an SUV and the efficiency of an electric compact.
It’s impossible to talk about the 2024 Paris Motor Show without mentioning the elephant in the room, or rather the angular pick-up in the hall: the Tesla Cybertruck. This is the perfect opportunity to see in real life this vehicle which has caused so much discussion since its controversial presentation in 2019.
In this festival of large cars and imposing SUVs, the Citroën Ami brings a touch of freshness. Its new version, and particularly the Ami Buggy, reminds us that electric power can also rhyme with urban mobility.
With its friendly look and its practicality in the city, it is debated. Personally, I find it (A)mi mi (sorry, it’s getting late).
This is just a selection, our selection, there are many other models to discover, this 2024 Paris Motor Show is a great edition.
Besides, don’t forget to take advantage of your visit to admire the largest collection of cinema and TV cars in Europe.
