Behind his smile hides an immense wound… At 76 years old, Jean-Pierre Foucault is known for having presented the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, on TF1 from 2000 to 2016. Today, the host continues to present the Miss France election every year as well as the Loto and EuroMillions draws. Sunday September 29, 2024, on the set of the show Un Dimanche à la campagne, on France 2, he agreed to talk about his childhood as well as his adolescence. Remembering a “severe” atmosphere at home, the host remembered: “You had to not put your elbows on the table, you shouldn’t talk at the table, you had to ask permission to leave the table… We respected the rules because we knew that otherwise the sanction would be imposed”, before adding: “My mother was in love with her husband, she was proud to be the head of a beautiful family”.
