Benoît from Nîmes was soundly beaten by his evening opponent Renato Moicano. The fight was stopped at the end of the second round by doctor’s decision.

The evening did not go as planned for Benoît Saint Denis at the Accor Arena in Bercy. Beaten in March by the American Dustin Poirier, BSD was keen to do better against the Brazilian Renato Moicano, during the main event of UFC 3, his first. The God of War’s opponent was not an easy task: 11th in the tough -70 kg category, he remained on three successes in a row.

The first round was terrible for the Frenchman. His evening opponent did him no favors, beating him to the ground after a misstep with his left foot. Despite his bloody face, heavily affected eyes and an open eyebrow, his courage took over, Benoît Saint Denis decided to continue in the second round to try to turn the tide, without knowing what evils awaited him.

After a second act where Benoît Saint Denis was content to defend and not aggravate his situation, the doctor carried out an examination to check if he was still fit to fight. Observing that his right eye was far too damaged to allow him to continue the fight, the match was stopped and won by Renato Moicano.

Following a second consecutive defeat, Benoît Saint Denis could fall out of the top 15 and move a little further away from the title of his category, a cruel disillusionment for him.
