the essential
The British low-cost airline announced on January 8 that it was eliminating ten destinations from Toulouse-Blagnac airport from April 1, 2025. Passengers who had already booked their tickets therefore find themselves forced to revise their plans.
After being forced to postpone his trip to Marrakech due to Covid, Alain Agret, 80, was happy to go with his family to the Moroccan sun next spring. Foresighted, this retired accountant from Castanet-Tolosan had planned ahead well in advance.
At the beginning of October, he had booked a stay with FRAM from April 15 to 24, 2025 in the Red City. All-inclusive plane tickets and hotel for 4 people cost a little over €4,700. After paying a deposit of 70%, everything is validated. But on January 15, it was a cold shower. The Toulouse travel agency informs him that his reservation has just been canceled, on the grounds that the easyJet company no longer serves this destination from 1is next April.

EasyJet will halve its destinations from Toulouse-Blagnac after closing its base
An additional cost of 1,900 euros
Following the closure of its Toulouse base on March 31, the British low-cost airline announced, on January 8, the elimination of ten destinations* out of the twenty it served from Toulouse-Blagnac airport . To maintain his stay in Marrakech, the retiree was therefore forced to change airlines, namely Ryanair. But, undoubtedly due to the context, the Irish low-cost company displays prices for the period similar to those charged by traditional companies. In the end, Alain Agret saw his bill rise to €6,600, an additional cost of €1,900. “We are being held hostage,” he laments. “As I have promised this trip to my daughter and granddaughter for a long time, I cannot see myself telling them that it is canceled. So I will be forced to pick and choose in my savings.”
Many passengers impacted
The former accountant is far from being an isolated case. In recent days, many Toulouse passengers have, like him, received cancellation emails from their travel agencies or directly from easyJet. The FRAM agency in Labège, where the Castanéen booked, confirms that around fifteen of its customers are impacted.
For Sébastien, who had booked three plane tickets on the carrier's website for the island of Menorca next April, the bad news arrived just a week ago… “We are really sorry to inform you that your easyJet flight EJU4942 from Menorca to Toulouse on Saturday 26 April at 5:05 p.m. has been canceled as we have made changes to our flight schedule from April 2025 for flights to and from Toulouse.” The ax fell, the holiday in the Balearic Islands with his wife and daughter fell through. “Three months before the deadline, it’s very complicated to turn around and find a sunny destination at an affordable price” explains the Toulouse resident. Finally, he will spend his holidays in the Occitanie region.
3 options to choose from
The British company, which apologizes for “the inconvenience caused”, offers three options to its passengers left on the side of the runway… They can change flights to the same destination free of charge or, if there is no no direct flights available, choose a flight from or to nearby airports in the same country. They can request a credit corresponding to the full value of the reservation which is valid for 12 months. They can finally demand a refund of the entire reservation, which will be made within 7 days.
easyJet passengers can complete these procedures by calling 09 77 40 77 70 from Monday to Sunday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., or request a refund via this online form.
