During his interview with Match TVin which he notably declared that women should not be paid as much as men in Grand Slams, the former world number 3 spoke of the Sinner affair while remembering his own story. He was beaten in the semi‐finals of Roland‐Garros 2005 by Mariano Puerta, who tested positive in a doping test just after his lost final against Rafael Nadal (who won his first title in Paris).
