An Italy – Netherlands final

Title holders, Italy will face the Netherlands in the final on Sunday from 4:00 p.m., who defeated Germany 2-0 in the first semi-final played on Friday evening. The transalpine selection is seeking a third Davis Cup title after those of 1976 and 2023. The Netherlands, for their part, have not won any and are having the best run in their history in Malaga, in a competition in which they had never previously progressed beyond the semi-finals.

Saturday afternoon, Sinner broke De Minaur in his first service game to lead 2-0. The Australian was not discouraged and managed to get back to 2-2, before losing his throw again at 3-2, enough to ensure the Italian won the set (6-3). A break at 4-4 was enough for the recent winner of the Masters to win the second set 6-4. Just before Sinner's victorious match, Kokkinakis and Berrettini, who had never faced each other, engaged in an extremely close duel.

The two players went blow for blow until 5-5 in the third set. The Australian cracked first, enough to allow Berrettini to race to victory (7-5). “I put my heart on the court today (Saturday), I think I played very well”Berrettini was satisfied. “It was very difficult to digest the missed opportunities in the first set, (but) I continued to fight”he said at a press conference.
