Asked to react to Rafael Nadal’s selection for the Davis Cup finals with Spain (from November 19 to 24 in Malaga), Carlos Alcaraz had strong and touching words for his compatriot and idol.
“It’s always great to have Rafa by my side. Yes, I miss him. I’m not going to lie to you, I missed him at the Laver Cup. Obviously, as I said, as much time as I can spend with him, for me it’s a privilege. I don’t want to think that it’s going to be a possible last dance for him in Malaga. I just want to think that I’m going to try to live or enjoy my time with him, enjoy seeing him on the court as much as possible. It’s obviously a great support to have him in the team. He can bring a lot of experience to the Davis Cup. For me, it’s going to be my first Davis Cup final. It’s going to be a great experience. To have the chance to spend more time off the court, on the court as well, with him, it’s going to be great for the Spanish team and I think for the country as well. I’m going to enjoy this moment. I hope it’s not the last time for him.”said the Spaniard at a press conference before the start of the ATP 500 in Beijing.
