The meeting between San Antonio and Indiana, which took place Thursday evening in Paris, recorded an average of 812,000 viewers, ranking it as the most watched NBA regular season game in history on television in France, according to the North American league.
Won by the Spurs of young French star Victor Wembanyama (140-110), the first of two regular season meetings organized in Paris – broadcast by both Bein Sports and Canal + – was played in front of 15,935 spectators at Bercy.
This is the fourth year that the NBA has set up shop in the capital since 2020. In a press release published Friday evening, the NBA also ensures that content on social networks “around Wembanyama generated more than 108 million views” and have it “propelled to second place among the most viewed NBA players on social networks this season”. Back in the spotlight in the capital, six months after the Olympic Games, Wembanyama faces Indiana again with the Spurs this Saturday (6:00 p.m.).
