Bressuire ITF: a Maé Malige duel

Sunday January 19, Maé Malige and Arthur Gea will compete in the final of the ITF tournament in Bressuire. The players qualified on Saturday January 18.

During the first semi-final, Maé Malige had no trouble securing her place for the final. The defending champion was heckled by Cyril Vandermeersch at the start of the first set, before taking the upper hand in the second set (7-5, 6-3).

Physically diminished, Vandermeersch called the doctor for treatment but was unable to compete afterwards.

Gea made his match last

In the next match, the suspense lasted longer. While Arthur Gea (n°2) dominated Micah Braswell (n°4, USA), the Frenchman lost his patience in the second set when his opponent equalized 4-4. He refocused in the third set despite some difficulties at the end of the match. Final score 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.
