Danielle Collins has revealed she has received several offers from sponsors following the viral footage in which she teases the public after beating a local player in the second round of the Australian Open.
Danielle Collins continues to ride the wave of controversy. If her withdrawal after her success against Destanee Aiava went down very badly with the Australian public, the 11th player in the world does not seem to regret it. Quite the contrary, since this sequence which went viral offered her great opportunities, as she explained at a press conference this Saturday, January 18, in the wake of her elimination in the third round.
“In this tournament alone, I received six offers from sponsors, it's a good signal. As I said, the fans contributed to that. It's a blessing. […] “I'm nearing the end of my career, so it's great to be able to capitalize on these opportunities,” she said.

On Thursday, Collins made headlines by shocking the audience at Melbourne's Show Court Arena following her success against Australian Destanee Aiava. During the match, some of the supporters provoked the American by celebrating each of her mistakes… to which she responded just after her victory by placing her hand on her ear and miming kisses.
-She then declared at a press conference: “One of the most interesting aspects of the life of a professional athlete is that the people who don't like you and the people who hate you, they are the ones who pay your bills. It's a pretty cool concept.”
This Saturday, when asked by reporters if she thought she could win back the hearts of the Australian public one day, Collins replied that the decision was up to the fans. She also said they may have taken things too seriously.
