Qualified for the first time in his career in the round of 16 of the Australian Open following the abandonment of his compatriot, Arthur Fils, Ugo Humbert will find a certain Alexander Zverev this Sunday against whom he lost heavily there just over two months ago in the final of the Masters 1000 at ‐Bercy.

Questioned by our colleagues from The Teamthe 14the Mondial explained that it wanted to make a clean slate of the past and start with a new dynamic against the German. Excerpts.

In the final at Bercy against Zverev, you really suffered… Can we forget that to better manage the next meeting?
It will be necessary (laughs) ! I took 2 and 2 in front of 15,000 people, I felt a little alone, though… I'll have to forget this match. I was very touched, I had given a lot during the week. But I had no regrets, he played really well. He had been unstoppable. I'll try to do it differently. I already beat him (in Halle, in 2021)I know I can do it. We will have to seize the slightest opportunity because it serves very well. It's a new match, a new challenge.
