ATP > Angelo Binaghi (president of the Italian Federation): “Sinner reminded me a little of Venus Williams”

During an interview given to The Newin which he made a remarkable statement about the personality of Rafael Nadal, the president of the Italian Federation, Angelo Binaghi, compared the young Jannik Sinner to a tennis legend.

“We saw each other in the locker room during the Next Gen Masters in 2019. He was the first Italian to win this competition, so I went to congratulate him. He impressed me with his politeness and simplicity. On the court, we already saw his enormous value, from a technical point of view he was of the highest level. But he still had to fill some physical gaps, he was a little immature. He reminded me a bit of Venus Williams: incredible potential, but athletic difficulties covering the ground. Then Sinner's tenacity and determination created a complete player, with no weak points: he is now a rocket in his movements, he has improved his serve and can also be incisive at the net. »
