ATP > Matteo Berrettini: “My brother always chose Novak Djokovic, I always preferred Roger Federer”

Author of a very good 2024 season despite some physical glitches (four titles won including the Davis Cup), Matteo Berrettini declared his love for in a very beautiful letter distributed by the ATP.

The Italian looks back in particular on his youth when he played at home with his brother, Jacopo, currently ranked at 320e world rank.

“I played tennis when I was three and I remember I didn't like it, so I stopped playing when I was eight because my brother, who is younger than me, Told me to come back because it might be fun. My brother always chose Novak Djokovic, I always preferred Roger (Federer) and we played for hours, at home, with balls, with small rackets or with big rackets, it didn't matter. We were just having fun. We didn't start off the right way, but luckily we were able to change that and now I'm enjoying you to the fullest. Since then, you have been part of my life. »
