It's time to take stock. The day after the ATP Masters, the last tournament of the 2024 Tennis season, the ATP published its final ranking for this year. Already assured of ending the year world number 1 even before coming to Turin for the ATP Finals, Jannik Sinner has, with his coronation, increased his lead at the top of the ATP rankings with 3,915 points ahead of his runner-up Alexander Zverev .
Finalist in Italy, the American Taylor Fritz climbs to fourth place, behind the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the best ranking of his career at 27 years old. He exchanges places with the Russian Daniil Medvedev (5th), while the Norwegian Casper Ruud passes Djokovic in 6th place.
Novak Djokovic, who ended his season, one of the worst of his career, without even going to Turin to defend his title even though he was qualified, fell one more place and is now in 7th rank. The 37-year-old Serbian had not been this low in the hierarchy since November 20, 2022 (8th). Note the presence in the end-of-year Top 20 of two Frenchmen Ugo Humbert (14th) and Arthur Fils (20th).
