ATP – Finals > Fritz, on Medvedev's behavior: “I was just laughing. I think he's very funny, to be honest”
When a player deviates from typical behavior, it can ultimately disrupt their opponent.
Asked about the escapades of Daniil Medvedev (see below), Taylor Fritz had a rather sympathetic response to the man he beat in two sets for the first match at the Turin Masters.
“I was just laughing. I think he's very funny, to be honest. Even when he's not playing against me, he often makes me laugh. He's very funny. I laughed more between points, especially when he threw his racket several times. It's just Daniel. At one point, he even had his racket upside down, it was 40–0 on my serve. He ended up making the comeback anyway. At that precise moment, I told myself that I had to really stay focused. »
