Italjet arrives in Moto2 with Gresini – Moto 80

The Italian brand is the title sponsor of the new Italjet Gresini Moto2 Team.

Founded by former Ducati dealer Leopoldo Tartarini in the early 1960s, the Italjet brand enjoyed some small success in the 1970s before declining. At the beginning of the 2000s, we found Italjet in Grand Prix in the 125 category, but without real success.

Today, Italjet has specialized in “manly” scooters with the Dragster, the “new urban Superbike”, available in 125, 200 and 300 cm3.

In order to try to break into the market again and get people talking about its new Dragster 700 Twin Factory, which will be produced in only 700 units, Italjet is relaunching in Grand Prix through sponsorship of the Gresini team in Moto2, which will field this season Albert Arenas and Darryn Binder. Today the company is managed by Massimo Tartarini.
