“Some batches were very popular, assures the auctioneer. A Renaissance period cabinet and a pendant chandelier were each purchased for just over €2,000. Collectors also appreciated the silverware. What surprised us was the attraction for what was commonplace, office furniture for example, which sold well. »

The auction brought in around €40,000, “which was in line with expectations, note Master Nugues. This sale caused a lot of excitement. More than 500 people visited the former bishopric, which was opened especially to the public, the day before the sale. There were many curious people, of course, but also people who wanted to support the bishopric in its future projects. »
