They want to use their drones to save the fawns

The Swiss Fawn Rescue association saves several thousand fawns from the mow each year during the birthing period, from the end of April to the beginning of July. Starting in January and continuing through April, the association provides basic training for people who want to use their drones for fawn rescue.

The training for future deer rescuers by drone takes place in nine modules. Theoretical modules take place in a virtual classroom.

This year, 109 participants started basic training, writes Fawn Rescue Switzerland on Sunday. The condition for participating is to first pass the A1/A3 drone exam of the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA).

The training for future deer rescuers by drone takes place in nine modules. Theoretical modules take place in a virtual classroom. They allow you to acquire specialist knowledge on drone technology, flight planning or Swiss air law.

As subsequent interventions are always carried out in collaboration with local hunters, a module also covers basic knowledge on hunting law and game biology.

Practical training allows you to practice the safe use of drones. This is done in a decentralized manner throughout Switzerland. At the end of basic training, all participants take a theoretical exam and a practical exam.

Since 2019, Sauvetage Faons Suisse has trained more than 850 drone pilots. Basic training costs 250 francs.
