Cerrado Gold Inc. announced its 2024 production results, reaching 54,494 gold equivalent ounces (GEO), matching its guidance of 50,000 to 60,000 GEO. In the fourth quarter, production reached 10,431 GEO, facing challenges due to lower ore grades from the remaining open pit mines. However, a record production of 5,956 GEO was achieved through heap leach operations during this quarter.
Cerrado projects production of 50,000-55,000 GEO for 2025. The company is transitioning to exclusively heap leach operation and aims to increase heap leach production to 4,000-4,500 GEO per month of here March 2025.
Cerrado’s financial position was strengthened by $34 million in payments from asset sales, improving its balance sheet. Exploration and development efforts are underway for potential underground operations at Paloma and improvements at Mont Sorcier in Quebec.
