Fujifilm leaks announce 4 new launches for 2025 – here’s what you can expect from the new camera line

Unlike many other cameras on this list, the Fujifilm GFX100 Eterna isn’t entirely based on speculation, rumors, or leaks. Fujifilm itself confirmed that the medium format video camera was in development last November. Currently, the release date is not known, although a 2025 launch is almost certain, with Fujifilm having already presented the GFX100 Eterna concept at InterBEE 2024.

Fujifilm also revealed some basic specs of the GFX100 Eterna, essentially confirming that it’s a GFX100 II in a different body – one designed for filmmaking, with plenty of mounting points and screw threads for accessories.

This means that the GFX100 Eterna will be equipped with a GFX 102 MP CMOS II HS medium format sensor combined with the X-Processor 5. This means that the GFX100 Eterna will offer 8K recording, F-Log2 and Apple ProRes 422, dynamic range of over 14 stops and an IBIS of 8 stops, which could make it an excellent studio camera and handheld documentary camera.

It is likely that the GFX100 Eterna will have the same card slots as the GFX100 II, making it compatible with UHS-I, UHS-II, CFExpress TypeB cards and SSDs under 2TB. The price is still unknown, but Fujifilm says it will be “affordable”, which, in the world of cinema cameras, doesn’t mean much to the average consumer. Currently, the Fujifilm GFX100S II is available at Best Buy for a whopping $4,999.99, while the GFX100 II is listed for $7,499.99, although it is out of stock. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the GFX100 Eterna slotted somewhere between these two medium format cameras.
