Last month, NASA’s Parker Solar Probe came within six million kilometers of the Sun, a record distance to date.
NASA scientists later confirmed that the probe, traveling at a speed of 692,000 km/h (also a record), survived the extreme heat and continues its journey at least until next September. The data collected by the Parker probe aims to better understand solar winds and the paradox of the solar atmosphere: its outer layer (the solar corona), although it is the most distant, is much hotter than the surface of the Sun .
