Bouygues Telecom ready to launch its new box on January 16!

New Bbox: it’s a failure for the surprise effect!

If most brands and companies generally cultivate secrecy around major events, they are unfortunately not immune to an internal leak, or a blunder. And that’s precisely what happened last December.

While Bouygues Telecom had started teasing its future Bbox on its various channels, the service responsible for sending the boxes unfortunately sent a model to a new subscriber to the Bbox Ultym offer.

An unfortunate error which had the consequence of completely spoiling the marketing campaign initially planned by the operator.

What we already know about the future Bbox

This mishap had the consequence of making public a good part of the physical and technical characteristics of the new jewel from Bouygues Telecom.

A redesigned design combining aesthetics and functionality

Bouygues Telecom has paid particular attention to the aesthetic appearance of its new box. The case sports a large ventilation grille with patterns reminiscent of the operator’s logo.

Oriented vertically, the modem has been designed to optimize the diffusion of the Wi-Fi signal.

The user interface also benefits from a modernization with the integration of a touch screen which makes it easier to manage settings and control the home network.

Network performance that meets expectations

The new Bouygues Telecom modem promises exceptional connection capabilities. It should be able to provide a connection speed of at least 8 Gbps for downloading.

To benefit users, the device has:

  • A 10 Gb/s compatible Ethernet socket
  • Two additional Ethernet ports clocked at 1 Gb/s

But the star of this New generation Bbox is undoubtedly its Wi-Fi 7 compatibilitya technology that promises exceptional wireless performance.

This progress places Bouygues Telecom at the same level as Free, until now the only operator offering this technology with its Freebox Ultra.

Strategic positioning on the high-end box market

The future Bbox should be associated with the Bbox Ultym offer from Bouygues Telecom which is currently offered at €42.99 per month for one year, then €49.99. But this remains to be confirmed. Several other key questions also remain unanswered.

Therefore, on the day of the official presentation, the operator will have to answer the following questions in particular:

  • Will the subscription price be maintained?
  • What streaming services will be included?
  • What exclusive features will be offered?

See you on January 16 to find out if Bouygues Telecom will manage to create a surprise in an increasingly competitive market.
