Top 5 Android and iOS apps of the week

This week, nextpit explores the vast catalogs of the App Store and Play Store to find five must-have apps and games for Android and iOS. The selection offers a diversity of genres, from engaging games to productivity tools. Among them, Ricocat Arenaa fast-paced multiplayer shooter that will test your reflexes, and Stellar Traveleran RPG for idle heroes, combining beautiful graphics and smooth gameplay. On the tools side, Soundiiz makes it easy to transfer playlists between platforms, while OldRoll donne a retro style to your photos as if they had made it.

Stellar Traveler (Android et iOS)

Want to immerse yourself in a role-playing game that isn’t too demanding? Enter Stellar Travelera casual and relaxing adventure that spans multiple galaxies. With over 40 unique heroes to choose from, you’ll have fun selecting your team of five heroes to attempt to defeat powerful bosses. What I really like about this game is the generous rewards system which allows me to get 9,999 free draws as soon as I log in.

I found the controls simple enough to master, and there’s no shortage of praise for the game’s graphics and variety. However, those unfamiliar with Chinese will find the translation quality leaves something to be desired, not to mention some player control issues mid-combat, as I feel like I’m being held by the hand throughout the game. I would have liked to have more autonomy in this regard.

This game is currently in beta, and as noted above, it only supports Simplified Chinese, which may detract from the experience for non-Chinese-speaking players. It feels like you’re replaying a poorly translated version of Final Fantasy Tactics from years ago.

This app makes it easy to transfer and manage your music collections across over 40 streaming services, like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Deezer. It lets you migrate your playlists in the blink of an eye, while maintaining song order, album art, and descriptions.

Simply connect your accounts across platforms and Soundiiz does the rest, automatically syncing any changes you make to your playlists across platforms. The interface is simple and intuitive, and transfers are generally fast, even for long playlists. However, a few errors can occur, such as missing tracks or incorrect matches, but this is rare.

OldRoll – Vintage Film Camera (Android & iOS)

Retro always has a way of making a comeback, and with the trend of influencers and young people rediscovering point-and-shoot digital cameras, nostalgia is here. OldRoll is an app that simulates the experience of classic analog cameras, offering vintage filters and effects to give your photos a retro touch.

The app offers a selection of vintage camera models, each with unique filters that mimic the aesthetic of film photography. Easy to use thanks to its intuitive interface, it allows any user to capture nostalgic images without having to manage complicated settings. Additionally, photos taken can be instantly shared on social media. For an even more retro experience, imagine using OldRoll on an old smartphone!

The app is free, but purchasing additional cameras and filters is optional. For those looking to recreate the charm of analog photography on their smartphone, OldRoll is a great choice.

Sane Scrolling (Android only)

Having a smartphone is great, but it can quickly become a source of addiction, especially because of doomscrolling. Sane Scrolling is an app designed to curb this habit by giving you restrictions on the time you spend scrolling social media.

The interface is simple, although the ads are a bit annoying, but they disappear quickly, allowing easy access to settings. You can set a timer to limit the time spent on short videos on platforms like YouTube, Instagram or TikTok. The free version lets you set a screen time goal for a single app, while the subscription offers more flexibility with multiple platforms.

Once the screen time target is reached, the application closes access to the selected platforms, which can be useful for parents wishing to limit their children’s smartphone usage. However, for those who are truly addicted to doomscrolling, there are always ways around the limit.

Ricocat Arena (Android only)

Do you think you have the reflexes necessary to play 1v1 in an FPS? Why not take on the challenge by taking part in a fast-paced 5v5 FPS? Enter Ricocat Arenawhere I was able to enjoy a dynamic mobile FPS that combines simple gameplay with intense action.

I appreciated the diversity of maps and game modes available, which means you never get bored. Players can engage in different unique maps and game modes, which range from team skirmishes to solo battles. This type of variety brings something new every time you fire up the game, and it keeps me on my toes.

Of course, any FPS is best played with a keyboard and mouse for greater precision, but I suppose you can still get by with a touchscreen. However, I highly recommend using a physical controller connected to your smartphone to get a head start.

With a host of colorful characters to choose from, I was spoiled for choice, wondering which special ability would suit me best, and having a bit of backstory on each character also added to the fun. attraction, since a connection has been created.

Keep in mind that this game, like many others coming out these days, is still in Early Access so things may change along the way. There will most likely be bugs and fixes to be made, but in the meantime, you can still have fun!
