But what is AMD doing with its launch of the RX 9000?

It’s impossible to understand anything!
Episode 1. We start with a complete absence of information regarding the next generation of RX 9000 graphics cards during AMD’s presentation at CES. None slide, no communication, and yet the press had received the slides regarding the RX 9070 (XT) and RX 9060 (XT) before the start of CES. The explanations given by AMD on the absence of information were not really convincing.

Episode 2. And leak with the alleged performance of the RX 9070 XT under 3DMark Time Spy Extreme and 3DMark Speed Way appears and disappears just as quickly. The performances are quite good and if we have to, of course, take a pinch of salt, the results place the RX 9070 XT between the RTX 4070 Ti and the RX 7900 XTX in Speed Way and between the RX 7900 4080 Super in Time Spy Extreme. In the meantime, rumors speak of an official communication from AMD scheduled for January 22, that is, in 11 days.

Episode 3. A manager of the architecture section gaming of AMD, Frank Azor declared to the editorial staff of PCWorld that all leak prior to the CES were inaccurate (source Videocardz). According to him, the performance expected from the next generation of AMD cards will be much better. Did he take against the performances in episode 2? Hard to say. One thing is certain, we don’t understand anything in AMD’s communication strategy, which throws away some information like throwing bread to pigeons. So either AMD is trying to confuse the minds of potential future buyers of the NVDIA RTX 5000 or the AMD RX 9000 has some good surprises in store for us. One thing is certain, everyone expects clear communication from the Reds.
