Still as pleasant to hold
The Samsung Galaxy A53 EE is a model which, like the basic version, has flat edges, a straight back and a featherweight of 189 g. Suffice to say that it fits very well in the hand and can be worn for several hours without any discomfort. This smartphone is also particularly robust, not only thanks to its Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, but also and above all to its IP67 certification: the Galaxy A53 can therefore withstand immersion in fresh water up to a depth of 1.0 m for at least 30 minutes.
At the front of this model, we find a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Amoled panel, which also offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Navigation is therefore particularly fluid and responsive. The measured maximum brightness of 707 cd/m² is very good and prevents us from having to squint in direct sunlight to read the information displayed. However, the light sensor fails a little from time to time.
Compelling performance and AI
In the bowels of the Samsung Galaxy A53 EE, there is an Exynos 1280 chip, supported by 6 GB of RAM. It’s certainly not an ultra-powerful configuration, but it does quite well for everyday use, despite some small slowdowns for more energy-intensive tasks. The smartphone still manages to run a few 3D games, but without pushing the graphics settings to their maximum. At least the A53 heats up very little. Furthermore, this model being an “Enterprise Edition”, it will benefit from 5 years of security patches, which is really reassuring. And on the software side, One UI 6.1, based on Android 14, is in place. A home interface as neat as ever and full of intelligent functions, particularly on the photo side.
Precisely, on the photo side, the Galaxy A53 relies on a main sensor with 64 megapixel optical stabilization, a 12 megapixel ultra-wide-angle, a 5 megapixel macro and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. Great versatility, then. Overall, we can capture beautiful shots, with nice sharpness if taken up close. The portrait mode is also very successful. Finally, regarding its autonomy, the Galaxy A53 has a 5,000 mAh battery, which promises around two days of use with moderate use. On the other hand, fast charging is absent, and recharging will therefore take quite a long time…
