The Plein(s) Écran(s) festival is back in January!

The online short film festival Full Screen(s) is back for a 9e edition of January 23 to 1e next February! Its programming, designed to appeal to various audiences, is made up of 40 films, including 36 presented online for free across Canada. There will also be multiple events in Montreal that will bring together film buffs from all walks of life: screenings in the company of filmmakers, script reading evenings, master classes, podcasts, fun fairs and more await you!

Festival-goers from across Quebec and elsewhere will have the chance to watch four films per day, available for 24 hours on the festival website and its social networks. Selected by a prestigious committee, the 24 Quebec films in official competition will be broadcast on Facebook and the 8 other short films from here in the Impression(s) section will be offered on Instagram. They will be grouped under four different themes: explosive, poignant, worrying et tender! The public will also be able to vote on 1e February for his favorite films among the six works that received the most interactions during the festival!

Presented under the theme Explosivethe film Bail bail by Sandrine Brodeur-Desrosiers who will launch the festivities! If you like this type of film with its explosive style or incendiary subject, you can watch these six other films in the official competition: To your ears, Lumen, Extras, Summer, The little basket on wheels, My tomato heart et The artifice.

Full of emotion, the films presented in the official competition of the section Poignant will remain engraved in your memory! You will have the chance to be moved by the magnificent animated films A hole in the et Giant Beaupré. The public will also be able to discover the touching documentaries Clemency, Hello Stranger, Just a roof et From here elsewhereas well as fiction Dirty hands (Katshinau). As a bonus, don’t miss the sensitive Your call is important to uswhich will be presented in Impression(s).

The short films presented in the official competition of the category Worrying will arouse pleasant uncertainty and mystery in the audience. Discover Zug Island, Hot Summer, Unclean, UWD, Mothers & Monsters et Someone’s Trying to Get Inas well as superb animated films, On the surface et Itch.

Films imbued with gentleness and pleasant to watch are brought together under the theme Tender. The three short films in the official competition are Audio and the Cayman, Three screaming vaginas et dead cat. For even more heartwarming films, watch Wild flowers, Stand up, The Lemonade StandMaking Medicines, Heatwave et Blue dreams blow in the wind.

As a carte blanche in the programming, Plein(s) Écran(s) is putting Belgian cinema in the spotlight this year thanks to the Brussels Short Film Festival (BSFF). A selection of creative, funny and moving short films await you! Find Alice and the suns, With Thelma et Si-G on Facebook as well as Journey into amnesia on Instagram.

Finally, if you are feeling in a festive mood, you are invited, on 1e February 20, at Bar North Star (3908 Boul. Saint-Laurent, Montreal) for a soirée funfair theme in honor of the closing film The artifice. On the program: announcement of the winners, DJ set, pinball, photobooth and other fun games!
